Working in the luxury hospitality industry, I believe I have a keen eye for service. Barry and his family were exceptionally accommodating and made me feel at home throughout my short stay with them. Living in the city, my entire trip was made better by finding this diamond in the rough as it really gave me a relaxed atmosphere I was looking for. An incredible experience, and my place to go every time I take my motorcycle upstate!

I love it up here!

There, an artist friend of mine (taking into consideration unrelated information I've shared w/him) mentioned I should make my way to an area called Hudson, mentioned it was hip, up and coming, and what-not.

I made my way first to say hi to friends over at Woodstock.

Nah, I don't need the fancy beaches and the margaritas - give me the shy deer and little black bear cubs chasing after mum. The streams, the picturesque rivers & falls... This all makes it clear (to me at least) where it is we really belong.

We had a wonderful experience staying with Barry at the Hudson City B&B. My husband and I needed a place to stay with our dog for one night, and Barry was able to accomodate us and give us a delicious breakfast in the morning. You must have Barry's waffles as they are absolutely the very best waffle that you can have in New York State!

I stayed here because the gentleman was super friendly before deciding to book, and remained so the entire stay - very helpful actually regarding certain "live" local spots.

So I did, and it was true, this area is pretty doap.

I've stayed at this B&B for a weekend in August. The house is very cute as it's a Victorian mansion. The house itself and the street it is on are quiet. I've stayed in the top floor room and the room was spacious, clean, and quiet, but the walls could use a coat of paint. The interior of the house is kind of clattered but interesting as it contains Victorian elements and many knickknacks. The host, Barry, is a bit eccentric, but nice and friendly. The breakfast choices were waffles or a french toast with a poached egg. I don't like to eat sweet stuff for breakfast, but many people liked it. The house is located only a few minutes away from the main shopping street and an Amtrak train station. Overall, i enjoyed my stay there and recommend it.

new years weekend was made better

This happens to me every so often and everyone who knows me, knows where Gillys vacation spot is; the wilderness, the ruggedness that is the outback, the cliff faces, the mountaintops - these are the reasons up north is where I make my way when looking to get zen.

room was clean comfortable, breakfast was great. we enjoyed our stay

we were warmly greeted by the owner, who shared his opinion of the town.

As thick skinned as I've always considered myself to be, NYC really eats at me.

I think being blasted in the face by passing New York City buses exhausts one time too many has drilled this point home for this here Brooklynite.
